The movie is about a girl named Priya. An aspiring to be a film maker, she decides to make a documentary on her family history to find out why they are cursed for generations. This quest leads her to the country of Malaysia which has many secrets hidden behind its friendly looking facade. The Malaysian countryside is revealed as the true home of tales and legends told by uneducated women who have possessed an impossible knowledge all their lives. Priya sets out to find out the truth and discovers that her family is cursed and can be freed only by one man. The movie is a good example of how our perception of things can be entirely wrong and we need to change it with some courage.Priya (Shweta Menon) is an aspiring actress, who wants to make a film on her family history. She tries to gather information from her grandmother (Kaviyoor Ponnamma) and grand uncle (Thilakan). When she questions them about the curse that her family has had for generations, they refuse to talk about it. Grand uncle then reveals that her grandmother is still alive. Priya and her brother travel to Malaysia and meet up with their grandmother and try and get more information on the curse. On the way back, they meet up with a stranger (Konji) who offers to help them find out about the curse. The girl feels she has been lied to all along by them, but when she finds out he has been lying, too, both of them decide to trust him. The man turns out to be a shadow creature who was sent from Malaysia by a woman named Ini (Malayalam actor Saikumar). The shadow creature hypnotizes the girl and her brother and tries to spy on their movements. Priya's brother tells her that Ini is his wife and they have a daughter who is Priya's half-sister, Lakshmi. Priya gets angry and slaps her brother. The shadow creature attacks them with a boomerang, which breaks the mirror that has been protecting the girl's family from the curse. The girl and her brother try to escape from the man but he catches up with them and they run into a house to hide. When they wake up, they find out that 18 years have passed by because of the curse. The girl spends 18 years in Malaysia tracking down Ini (Saikumar) to free her family from the curse. She eventually finds out that Ini really is her grandmother, and that the reason why they are cursed is because her mother Chinnamma (Prakriti Sircar) had an affair with a man named Rama Rao (Shivaji Guruvayoor), who turned out to be her own cousin. Chinnamma dies after the girl gets pregnant. The girl is now grown up and she meets up with another shadow creature, who turns out to be Shambukatha (Savithri) the same woman who sent Rama Rao all those years ago to Malaysia so he can spy on Priya's family. cfa1e77820
